1. Terms of use
These terms of use ("Terms") apply to any person or organization that enrols onto or uses any educational programme ("Course") provided through the Dubai College of Tourism's (“DCT” or “us”) Dubai Tour Guide Training Platform (“DTGTP”) which are delivered through websites and software which are owned and/or operated by DCT. A person that enrols on a Course is referred to in these Terms as a "Student" or "you". Your employer is referred to in these Terms as the "Employer".
Please read these Terms carefully. These Terms form a contract between you and DCT. By enrolling in a Course or by accessing the DTGTP, you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you agree to comply with them whether or not you are a registered user. If you do not understand or do not wish to be bound by these Terms, you should not use the DTGTP. DCT reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time without advance notice. Any changes to these Terms will be effective immediately upon posting on this page, with an updated effective date. We therefore advise that you review these Terms from time to time. By accessing continuing to access the Site after any changes have been made, you express you are confirming your agreement on a prospective basis to the modified Terms and all of the changes.
2. Privacy Notice
Our Privacy Notice sets out the basis on which we process any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us. By using the DTGTP, you consent to the processing of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice .
3. Enrolling on a Course
To enrol on a Course, you will need to:
- Login on the DTGTP through www.tourguidetraining.ae
- Create an account. You are not permitted to share your login details with anyone else.
- Select the course
- Upload the required documents
- Receive approval and confirmation
- Pay online
- Complete course requirements
You warrant that all information provided by you on enrolment is accurate. If you provide inaccurate information to us on enrolment, any certificate of accreditation awarded to you at the end of the Course will be deemed invalid.
4. Course duration and structure
All parts of a Course must be completed in order to pass the Course.
You will have 90 days from the time of the first payment to complete the course ("Course Term"). Alternatively, you will have to start the process from the beginning.
Upon passing all the assessments, you will be awarded:
- A certificate of accreditation for the relevant Course that you can download from the DTGTP.
- Tour guide license (when applicable), valid for two years.
5. Assessments
Each stage of the course contains a number of assessments to test your knowledge and skills as you proceed through each learning outcome.
Dubai Tour Guide Programme (DTGP) and Dubai Tour Guide Update (DTGU):
- a. Dubai Way assessment:
You will be given three attempts for completing the Dubai Way Assessment. If the Assessment is not passed at the third attempt or (if sooner) by the end of the Course Term, your access to the course will come to an end.
You may re-sit the Course by enrolling again to the Course. You will be charged for the cost of the Course each time you enroll.
- Knowledge assessment:
You will be given one attempt for completing the Written Assessment and passing competency-based interview.
If the above Assessment is not passed at the first attempt or (if sooner) by the end of the Course Term, your access to the course will come to an end.
You may re-take the assessment. You will be charged for the cost each time you apply for assessment re-take.
- c. Skills assessment:
Online assessment: You will be given three attempts for completing the Online Assessment. If the Assessment is not passed at the third attempt or (if sooner) by the end of the Course Term, your access to the course will come to an end.
You may re-sit the Course by enrolling again to the Course. You will be charged for the cost of the Course each time you enroll.
Practical assessment: You will be given one attempt for completing the Practical Assessment.
If the Practical Assessment is not passed at the first attempt or (if sooner) by the end of the Course Term, your access to the course will come to an end.
You may re-take the assessment. You will be charged for the cost each time you apply for assessment re-take.
You are strictly prohibited from the following:
- asking someone else to complete any Assessment for you;
- receiving assistance from anyone by any means during any Assessment; browsing the internet for answers during any Assessment; and/or
- referring to any other materials or information (whether offline or online) during any Assessment.
If you attempt to access any search engine or any website other than the DTGTP during any Assessment, you will be given at least one warning, and if you continue to do so thereafter you will automatically fail the Assessment.
We may also require you to use a webcam to record yourself sitting your Assessment. This is to ensure that Students sit their Assessment without assistance so that we can ensure fairness among all Students.
- During all Assessments ("Assessments"), you are prohibited from copying, printing, photographing or creating a screenshot of the questions asked. If you attempt to copy, print, photograph or create a screenshot of any part of any Assessment, you will automatically fail the Assessment.
- Students will not be given access to their Assessments after completion.
6. Accessing the DTGTP
We do not guarantee that the DTGTP, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. Access to the DTGTP is permitted on a temporary basis. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure that the DTGTP is accessible at any time of day, we may suspend, withdraw, discontinue or change all or any part of the DTGTP without notice. We will not be liable to you if for any reason the DTGTP is unavailable at any time or for any period.
You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to the DTGTP, for example, by ensuring that you have a good internet connection.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
(a) Ownership of Intellectual Property Rights
In this section:
"Intellectual Property Rights" means: (i) copyright, patents, database rights and rights in trademarks, designs, know-how and confidential information (whether registered or unregistered); (ii) applications for registration, and the right to apply for registration, for any of these rights; (iii) all other intellectual property rights and equivalent or similar forms of protection existing anywhere in the world; and (iv) any licenses, permissions or rights to use obtained by a third party owner of intellectual property to use the Content and/or Platforms;
"Platforms" means the websites and software used to deliver the Content on the DTGTP; and
"Content" means all forms of content published or made available on the DTGTP, including without limitation all HTML, text, graphics, logos, button icons and images, audio clips, video clips, digital downloads, data compilations (as well as the organization and layout of such content)
DCT own (and where applicable are the licensees of) all Intellectual Property Rights in the DTGTP, which are protected by United Arab Emirates and international copyright laws and treaties. All such rights are reserved.

(b) Permitted use of the Content
The Content may be used for your own personal, non-commercial use only.
Except where we expressly provide otherwise, you are not permitted to copy, download, print, photograph, screenshot, or otherwise reproduce in any other way any Content on the DTGTP.
We may provide downloadable workbooks, flashcards or other study aids from time to time, which we may expressly permit you to print. If we permit you to print these materials, only one copy may be printed and retained for your own personal, non-commercial use solely for the purpose of completing the relevant Course. You are not permitted to photocopy or share your printouts with anyone else.
If you print, copy, screenshot or download any Content in breach of these Terms, your right to use the DTGTP and our Content (including as permitted in these Terms) will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the Content in whatever form you have made.
If you attempt to print, photograph or screenshot any part of any Assessment, you will automatically fail the Assessment.
Nothing displayed on the DTGTP should be construed as granting any right of use in relation to any logo, trade name, masthead or trademark displayed on them without the express written consent of the relevant Intellectual Property Rights owner.
You acknowledge that you have no right, title or interest in or to the Content or the DTGTP.
You agree to indemnify us, and our respective affiliates on demand from and against any claim, suit, action, demand, damages, loss, cost, expense (including litigation costs and attorneys' fees) and liability arising from any breach by you of this section 7
8. Disclaimer
The DTGTP is provided on an "as is" and “as available” basis.
To the full extent permitted by applicable law, DCT disclaims and exclude all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranties or representations relating to quality, accuracy, merchantability and/or fitness for a particular purpose that may apply to the DTGTP.
To the full extent permitted by applicable law, DCT will not be liable for any loss or damages of any kind including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental punitive and consequential damages, whether in contract (including negligence) or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:
- your (or a third party's) use of, or inability to use, the DTGTP; or
- your (or a third party's) use of or reliance on any Content.
You agree not to use the DTGTP for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus, distributed denial-of-service attack, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of the DTGTP or to your downloading of any Content, or on any website linked to them.
We assume no responsibility for the content of third party websites linked on the DTGTP. Such links should not be interpreted as endorsement by us of those linked websites. We will not be liable for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DCT, its employees, contractors, agents, or any other representatives from and against any injuries, claims, demands, losses, or damages caused or alleged to be caused, whether directly or indirectly, arising from or relating to: (i) your use of and access to our DTGTP; (ii) content you submit, post, transmit or otherwise make available via DTGTP; (iii) your violation of these Terms. This indemnification obligation will survive the termination of these Terms.
10. Processing Payments
By submitting payments through the DTGTP, you authorise us to process your payments according to your instructions. If you choose the direct payment gateway on the DTGTP to make any payments, then your credit card data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete or process your payment transaction. We will not be liable if we do not proceed with a transaction, disbursement, or adjustment that would exceed any limit established by us or our affiliates for a security reason. We will not bear the risk of credit card fraud (i.e., fraudulent purchase arising from the theft and unauthorized use of a third party's credit card information) occurring in connection with your transactions. In such event, we strongly encourage to contact your bank.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by amending this page. Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes made, as they are binding on you.
Where we consider that any changes to these Terms are material, we will (where reasonably practicable or required by law) notify you within the DTGTP, via direct communication to you or by other means, prior to such changes becoming effective.
By continuing to use the DTGTP after we make any changes to these Terms, you are agreeing to be bound by the revised Terms.
12. Changes to the DTGTP
We may update the DTGTP and/or the Content from time to time without notice to you. We are, however, under no obligation to update the DTGTP or any Content.
We do not guarantee that the DTGTP, or any Content, will be free from errors or omissions.
13. No reliance on information
The Content on the DTGTP is provided for educational purposes only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. You must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the Content.
Your employer may direct you to conduct your job role in a way which differs from the methods described in the Course. Nothing in the Course permits you to conduct yourself in a way that breaches your employment obligations or the directions of your employer.
Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on the DTGTP, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the Content is accurate, complete or up-to-date.
14. Viruses
We do not guarantee that the DTGTP will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform in order to access the DTGTP. You should use your own virus protection software.
You must not misuse the DTGTP by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the DTGTP, the server on which the DTGTP is hosted or any server, computer or database connected to the DTGTP. You must not attack the DTGTP via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and this may also amount to a criminal offence in your own jurisdiction (if you live outside the United Arab Emirates). We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use the DTGTP will cease immediately.
15. Linking to the DTGTP
You must not link to or frame the DTGTP homepage or any related resource or content.
16. Third Party links and resources in our site
Where the DTGTP contains links to other websites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those websites or resources, or the content within them, and as such, these links are provided for your information only. DCT cannot guarantee, represent or warrant that the content contained in such third party websites is accurate, legal and/or inoffensive, and assumes no responsibility or liability, whether express or implied, for such third party contents. DCT does not endorse the content of any third party website, nor do we warrant that they will not contain viruses or otherwise impact your computer.
By using DTGTP to search for or link to another website, you agree and understand that you may not make any claim against DCT for any damages or losses, whatsoever, resulting from your use of DTGTP to obtain search results or to link to another website.
17. Applicable Law
DTGTP is created and controlled by DCT in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As such, the laws of Dubai, and where applicable the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, will govern these Terms without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of laws.

The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to inform individuals that enrol onto DCT's Dubai Tour Guide Training Platform (collectively, "DTGTP") about how we collect, use and protect personal information relating to them (“personal information”) when they access and use the DTGTP. This Privacy Notice should be read together with the DTGTP Terms and the DTGTP Cookies Policy any other documents referred to in it.

Personal information we collect about you
We collect and use the following types of personal information:
Information you give to us: To enrol on a Course we will ask you to provide the following information:

Your first name;
Your last name;
Your user name;
Your nationality;
Your full name in Arabic;
Your date of birth;
Your gender;
Your Emirates identity card number;
Your Emirates identity card expiry date;
Your address;
Your mobile number;
Languages you speak;
If you are a freelancer or not;
Company name;
Your profession;
The name of your sponsor;
- You may not be able to complete enrolment without the above information.
Information collected through your participation in a Course: We record your progress during a Course, including the learning outcomes you have completed and the assessments you have undertaken (including your responses and your assessment scores). We may also require you to use a webcam during assessments, in which case we will collect the recording of you sitting the assessment in order to ensure fairness of test conditions among all Students.
Information we collect about you through your use of the DTGTP: We collect information about your use of the DTGTP through the use of online cookies and other similar technologies. For more detail on this please see the additional sections of this Privacy Notice.
The information we collect through cookies and other similar technologies may include (i) internet protocol address, (ii) device-specific information (such as your hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information including phone number), (iii) device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL, (iv) cookies or similar technologies that may uniquely identify your browser or your LMS user account; (v) information (including personal information) locally on your device using mechanisms such as browser web storage (including HTML 5) and application data caches.
You may set your browser to block all cookies, including cookies associated with the LMS, or to indicate when a cookie is being set by us. However, it’s important to remember that many of our services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. For example, we may not remember your preferences and certain content may not display properly.

Purposes for which we use your personal information
We use your personal information:
- to register your enrolment on a Course;
- to ensure that Course content is relevant to you;
- to create a user profile for you in the DTGTP so that you can access the DTGTP;
- to verify your identity and eligibility to enrol for the Course;
- to allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so;
- to notify you when you have completed the Course (or specific learning outcomes) and to send you a certificate of accreditation when you have passed the Course;
- to send you reminders or otherwise contact you about the Course;
- to notify you about changes to the DTGTP, the DTGTP Terms or this Privacy Notice;
- to provide updates to your employer;
- to ensure that content from the DTGTP is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;
- to prevent, detect and take action against cheating on any Course assessments;
- for data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;
- to improve the DTGTP and our Courses;
- as part of our efforts to keep the DTGTP safe and secure;
- to measure or understand the effectiveness of advertising we serve to you and others, and to facilitate the delivery of relevant advertising to you on the DTGTP ; to provide you with the information, products and services that you request from us; to respond to your questions, comments and requests; where you have indicated your consent, to provide you, or permit selected third parties to provide you, with additional services and/or information about additional services that may interest you (see Marketing section below); to comply with any applicable law;
- to cooperate with or comply with orders or requests from regulators or law enforcement bodies; to enforce, protect, or defend the legal rights or property of DCT, our customers, Students and/or any other persons; and/or for purposes relating to any of the above.
Who we share your personal information with
We keep your personal information confidential, but we may disclose your personal information to the following third parties in connection with the purposes described above:
The DNRD. We disclose your full name, Emirates ID number (if you have one) and other similar personal information to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs ("DNRD") to verify your identity.
- · Contractors. We may disclose your personal information to agents, contractors and suppliers that provide services such as analytics, hosting, IT support and other services to DCT from time to time. For example, if you have problems logging into the DTGTP and require IT support, your personal information may be provided to a third party contractor to provide that support.
Regulators, governmental bodies, law enforcement agencies or industry bodies. We would only disclose your personal information to such an entity if we had a reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing (on the part of you or a third party) or if such an entity were to order or request disclosure.
Selected third parties in the event of a business sale, purchase or restructuring. In the event that DCT sells or buys any business or assets, we may disclose your personal information to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets. If DCT or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, personal information held by it will be transferred to the acquirer as an asset.
Industry partners: Where you have indicated your consent, you permit us to disclose your personal information to industry partners for business opportunities.
We may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners, like publishers, advertisers or connected websites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our services.
Marketing
Where you have indicated your consent, we (and permitted third parties) may contact you for direct marketing purposes via post, telephone, email, SMS/MMS, push notifications, and social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp.
This marketing may relate to:
• additional products and services we (or permitted third parties) feel may interest you;
• information about other goods and services we offer that are similar to those that you have already used or enquired about; and
• upcoming events, promotions and new products/services or other opportunities as well as those of selected third parties.
If you are an existing customer, we will only contact you by electronic means without seeking your consent in advance (including but not limited to telephone, e-mail, SMS/MMS, push notifications, and social medial channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp) with information about services similar to those which were the subject of a previous dealing with you.
If you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from us you may unsubscribe by following the unsubscribe link in our email communications or by requesting us to remove you and your personal information collected electronically from our database(s) by emailing trainingsolutions@dubaitourism.ae
Retention
We do not retain personal information for longer than required to fulfil the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, or to comply with the law.
Links to Other Websites
We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites or services linked to or from our websites, including their data collection practices or privacy policies. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our websites to another website, our Privacy Notice does not apply to third-party websites or services. Your browsing and interaction on any third-party websites or service, including those that have a link or advertisement on our websites, are subject to that third party’s own rules and policies. In addition, you agree that we are not responsible and we do not have control over any third-parties that you authorize to access your user content. If you are using a third-party website or service (like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Google groups etc.) and you allow such a third-party access to your user content you do so at your own risk.
Where we store your personal information
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, stored and otherwise processed on servers located within and outside of the UAE.

If you elect to contact us with any questions, comments or requests using one of our online forms, you will need to provide your full name, telephone number and e-mail address so that we can be sure to be able to contact you. Depending on which online form you complete, you may be given the opportunity to provide additional information that will allow us to serve you better, although the additional information might not be required in order for you to complete and submit the online form.

Security
We will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information that we hold from misuse, loss, or unauthorized access including by technical means such as firewalls, password access and secure servers as well as by physical and administrative safeguards
Unfortunately, there is always risk involved in sending information through any channel over the internet. You send information over the internet entirely at your own risk. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted over the internet and we do not warrant the security of any information, including personal information, which you transmit to us over the internet.
If you suspect any misuse or loss of, or unauthorized access to, your personal information, please let us know immediately.
Compliance and cooperation with regulatory authorities
We regularly review our compliance with our Privacy Notice. When we receive formal written complaints, we will contact the person who made the complaint to follow up. We work with the appropriate regulatory authorities to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal information that we cannot resolve with our users directly.

In the future, we may revise or amend this Privacy Notice at any time by amending this page. All changes will be made here so you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will disclose it to anyone. The Dubai Tour Guide Training Platform ("DTGTP") is delivered through websites and software ("Platforms") which are owned and/or operated by the Dubai College Tourism LLC ("DCT").

- Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of the Platforms. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into the DTGTP or access content that is only accessible to enrolled Students.
- Analytical/performance cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of Students using the DTGTP. This helps us to improve the way the DTGTP works, for example, by ensuring that Students are finding what they are looking for easily.
- Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise you when you return to the DTGTP. This enables us to personalise our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences.
- Targeting cookies. These cookies record your visit to the DTGTP, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed.
Please note that third parties (including, for example, content creation, development and distribution partner networks and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services) may also use cookies, over which we have no control. PERSONAL INFORMATION
